Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid PredictionBy Pavithran Chidambaram
October 15, 2018
The invincible Blaugranes still undefeated in the competition after 26 games will be hoping to extend Club record 33-game unbeaten streak in La Liga. The results could be more decisive for Barcelona, a win means the league is much over for Madrid, a draw will keep things as they are and if Atlético wins, they’ll cut Barça’s lead to just two points and have all of the momentum heading into the final ten games of the season. To beat Blaugranes at Camp Nou will be a Shangri-La, the last time Atlético won against Barca dates back to 2006. Barca’s summer target Griezmann, scoring seven goals in last two appearances and would be a threat in the final third.
Atleti’s defence will struggle to cope with the forward duo of Leo Messi and Suárez who are the top scorers in the league netting a combined 42 goals for Barca. Jordi Alba will be back from suspension and Pique returning from rest and assured strongest possible Xl. The Catalans are likely to dominate possession and should avoid any counter attack’s as Griezmann would be unstoppable in 30-yard box. Barcelona is the favourites to win with Coutinho’s intelligence & squad’s depth and exploiting the pace of Dembele may grab a late winner for Catalans.
