Emirates FA cup Semi-Final Preview: (Chelsea vs Southampton)By Santhosh Kumar
December 19, 2018
The business end of the season this. In a month or so, the entire club Football season is gonna end. Every team will be looking to end the season on a high. Today will be an FA Cup semi-final between two teams who have the weirdest season. The match is between Chelsea and Southampton. The only chance for one team to finish the season with a silverware. And for the other team, it’s a chance to create some momentum to escape relegation.
The Champions in exile, Chelsea being a mere shadow of their league winning campaign last season. For the first time in 2018, the blues had back-to-back league victories. A not so big stat for a team with the stature of Chelsea. Morata and Giroud played started upfront the last game and looked to combine well. Not confident enough, but there was definitely a positive and attacking attitude. So once they are confident too, and with Hazard added into the mix, they could become a potent attack. Antonio Conte will look up to these men to salvage a season that has gone very bad till now. FA cup might not be a big trophy anymore. But it’s the oldest major club competition in the world. Winning it would lift up the mood at the Bridge.
For the Saints though, they have to just look to win every game possible from here. Their main motive will be to escape relegation. They could keep their hopes high on this fixture as they led Chelsea 0-2 for sixty minutes last week, only for Giroud to come off the bench and turn it around completely. A place in the FA cup final will be an added advantage to the struggling Saints in their quest to be in the Premier League. We hope for a good show for them.
LINE UPS: (PREDICTED)

PREDICTIONS AND KICK-OFF TIME:
A match at Wembley is always a one to cherish. Chelsea will look to emulate the last season FA Cup semi-final thrashing of Tottenham. While Southampton will look to go deep into the match and look for a positive result. Chelsea has the upper hand on this fixture and I’m going for Chelsea win.
Chelsea 3-1 Southampton.
