As the international break has come to an end, we return to the Premier League action this weekend with some pretty exciting fixtures in the tank. One such fixture is Chelsea taking on the newbies Cardiff city in the league. It looks to be a good fixture that might produce a lot of goals.

The sun is shining back at Stamford Bridge as ‘Sarri ball’ is starting to take its effect on the new look Chelsea. The players look rejuvenated. The manager is putting his philosophy right into the core of the team. Four wins in four games show how good they can be. However, stating that there is room for improvement always. Their defense looks shaky at times, but they are holding up. Azpilicueta in special has been a wall and even Marcos Alonso has been in good form. The central defensive pair needs to work more to challenge the big guns.

Coming to the other end, the attack looks potent game by game. The midfielders are getting a grip on the style and sometimes the way Jorginho and Kante covering the defense is a thing of art. The final third looks increasingly threatening as Pedro who was silent last season has already got 3 goals and Eden Hazard is reaching unprecedented levels in his prolific careers. The blues as a team have attempted 2,996 passed and completed like more than 2650 passes which are more than any other team in the league. All things look good as Chelsea look to make it 5 out of 5.

Cardiff City, on the other hand, is sort of having a slow and slugged start to the season. Withdrawing two and losing the other two of the opening four fixtures. We cannot already term them as relegation prone team. They had a very good game against in which they showed grit and determination to an extent. If they can put up with the Chelsea’s attacking prowess, they can always hit back on the counter and create a menace for the Blues’ defense.

Neil Warnock has done an excellent job leading Cardiff back into the Premier League. But their grit will be tested each and every game which will be vital for them to stay up in the league come to the business end of the season. Still early days, but Cardiff will look to take up each game by its merits and look for a positive result.

CHELSEA : (4-3-3)

Arrizabalaga | Alonso, Christiensen, Rudiger , Azpilicueta | Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic | Pedro, Morata, Hazard.

CARDIFF CITY ( 4-4-2 )

Etheridge | Bennett, Morrison, Manga, Bamba | Arter, Ralls, Reid, Camarasa | Ward, Hoilett.

The fact that this match happens at Stamford bridge kinda makes it a one-sided contest. However, this is the Premier League and we can never judge any results. On their day, Cardiff city can be a team to beat the best, but according to the recent results, I’m going for a Chelsea win.

Chelsea 2-0 Cardiff city.

The match will kick off at 3 PM UK Time and 7.30 PM IST. Jonathan Moss will be the man in the middle of the game.
